Pharmaceutical L&A Strategy

Challenge

P&G Pharmaceuticals needed a strategic framework to prioritize therapeutic areas and specific in-licensing candidates for the Women’s Health category. 

Approach

Gathered data on 20+ therapeutic areas and compounds in development in each area. Rated on fit with company capabilities, market attractiveness, and number of opportunities in each area.  This led to a visual map that made it easy to see which areas had the largest number of opportunities, largest potential revenue, and best fit with the company.

Result

P&G Pharma used this strategic map for five years and pursued over 10 in-licensing candidates in key core and adjacent therapeutic areas. P&G has since divested their pharmaceutical division.
